David Bowie -portrait of a youthful crush #davidbowie

The only graffiti I ever carved was ‘David Bowie is God’ on a bench at Ansdell station, Lancashire, in about 1984. I was totally in love with Bowie, but not necessarily with his music (although I did purchase ‘Low’ about this time) but with his bone structure. Yes you heard right.

You see, I was utterly obsessed with the man’s face – especially during the Thin White Duke years. It fascinated me how someone could be that thin, and, as unhealthy as he looked I still fancied the pants off him.

So I felt obliged to draw him – well my interpretation of him. David Bowie and his glorious face.
