Depression and Me (part 2)

For all those who have never experienced depression, this is what it feels like for me when the black cloud starts to lift. A grey curtain being drawn back to reveal a world where colours, sounds, and experiences are sweeter and more intense. The world through depressed eyes is desaturated, distant, muffled – a world where you are trapped in your depression bubble. When somehow, inexplicably, you start to feel like yourself again, every little experience, whether it’s hearing wind ruffling leaves or feeling the sun’s warmth on your face, is one of pure joy.
